Thanks to the 53 beers on draft and a kitchen capable of a lot more than fish and chips and beer-steamed franks, Mews is more than just another neighborhood pub. The place is so packed on weekend nights that customers are assigned beepers as they wait at the bar. As befits a pub, plenty of appetizers and munchies are offered. The dinner entrees (lobster fettucine, wood-grilled swordfish) are pleasingly ambitious, as are the obligatory burgers, which range from a tuna burger to a yuppie burger. Of course, you can always stick with beer for your main course.
